A Year of ‘Star Wars’ Podcasts: Looking Back at 2014

2014 turned out to be an amazing year for Star Wars podcasting. Being part of‘s “Now, This Is Podcasting!” introduced me to an extensive community filled with talented and insightful Star Wars fans who discuss and share opinions through this digital medium. I even started my own podcast on October 1, 2014, called “Rebels Chat“, the only Star Wars podcast that features a mother-daughter duo as hosts.

Verbally sharing my thoughts is something that doesn’t come too easily for me. Sometimes, my mouth runs away with me and my brain fails to catch up. Other times, my brain fails completely and I never know what meaningful thing to say that would add to the conversation. I took up podcasting because I like challenging myself, and even though the nerves continue to kick in prior to each recording, it’s a fun way to express your love for any fandom. I may not offer much in terms of hardcore analysis and thought, but I hope my enthusiasm and genuine love for Star Wars make up for it.

That said, many heartfelt thanks to the amazing Star Wars podcasters who’ve invited me to share in conversation and to the staff at Making Star Wars for starting it all. You are all wonderful contributors of original and engaging content. May the start of your new year be merry and bright!

  1. Well done! I’m so grateful I got to meet you and other amazing people in the SW community over this past year-ish. I’ve been contemplating podcasting for a good while, but still haven’t taken the plunge. :)

    • You should totally take the plunge! You have so many wonderful insights into different subjects. Make it a once-a-month thing and then expand on it if you think you have enough material! Definitely lots of fun!
