Today’s spotlight is on Brandon Harrelson!
I found Brandon’s art through Instagram, under the Star Wars Rebels hashtag. After liking a few of his photos, curiosity struck him and he found my site, which then led him to fill out an application for the Fan Artist Spotlight! I’m so glad he did because his art is beautiful. Brandon is self-taught and he’s currently building his career as an artist. He recently submitted his art piece of Ezra Bridger in the Star Wars Rebels Season Two Fan Art Contest, and I recommend you all do the same, so make sure to visit StarWars.com for more information.
Tell us about yourself.
I retired from the Air Force this past October. I’ve been going to the Art Institute of Seattle and selling my art on the side. I also have a Facebook art page. Make sure to like the page!
When and how did you become a Star Wars fan?
I was two years old when Star Wars came out, so I grew up with it.
What tools do you use to create your art?
Markers and pencils mostly, but I use whatever.
What is your favorite Star Wars piece that you have created and why are you fond of it?
I just completed a Bounty Hunters series that I sold.
What’s the best and most difficult thing about being an artist?
Getting noticed and making a living out of it.
Star Wars Rebels is currently in its second season. What are your thoughts? How do you think the series will progress?
From what I’ve read, it’s supposed to take us through Rogue One, so I’d be happy with that.
Are you looking forward to the future Star Wars films? After watching the trailer(s) for The Force Awakens, what are your hopes or worries?
I’m stoked. I have 100% confidence in Disney and J.J. Abrams.
How else do you express your love for Star Wars (cosplay, fanfiction, etc.)?
I’ve been able to afford higher-end Star Wars figures and that’s pretty cool.
Any final thoughts?
May the Force be with you!
Keep up the amazing work, Brandon! Best of luck with your studies and I hope more people continue to recognize the awesome work that you do. May the Force be with you!
