Star Wars Rebels, Kanan #7


Star Wars will have a large presence at the D23 Expo, an event taking place from August 14-16 in the Anaheim Convention Center. According to the press release, “Disney Interactive will showcase more Star Wars characters and Play Sets new to Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition and provide the entire audience with limited-edition giveaways exclusively for Hall D23. Electronic Arts will give guests an in-depth look at Star Wars Battlefront, the authentic Star Wars gaming experience coming November 17.”

George Lucas will also be honored as a Disney Legend on Friday, August 14.

Two Star Wars podcasts have exciting fan-made projects coming your way. On August 10, find Far Far Away Radio’s full-length audio drama that puts a FFAR spin on A New Hope. Listen to the seven-minute preview here. Radio Free Tatooine also has a new audio drama, featuring various fans from the community, known as Star Wars: Shadow Quarry. Star Wars Rebels

Disney XD recently released a new video promoting the return of Star Wars Rebels this fall, “Last season, Ezra joined Kanan’s team and began his training in the ways of The Force.”

A new first look of the second season appeared in the seventh issue of the Star Wars Rebels Magazine from Egmont Publishing. In it, we get a greater detail of the female Inquisitor as well as Captain Rex and Hondo Ohnaka.

Comics and Books

Read an excerpt of Star Wars: Aftermath by Chuck Wendig over at Entertainment Weekly.

Both Pete Morrison (Rebels Report, Making Star Wars) and author Christie Golden wrote posts about Dark Disciple over at Pete looks back at the history of Asajj Ventress and Quinlan Vos, while Christie Golden discusses how she took eight unaired episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and transformed them into a novel.

Kanan: The Last Padawan #4 comes out July 22, 2015. released a set of preview pages, as seen below.

Marvel recently released the solicitations for October 2015. Find a collection of new Star Wars comics coming out that month over at Roqoo Depot.

Kanan #7 jumps further into Kanan’s past and takes readers back to his very first adventure in the Clone Wars. Issue #7 will be released on October 28, 2015 (see cover below). For those of you who have been waiting to read the first arc in its entirety, The Last Padawan (issues #1-6) trade paperback (TPB) will be released on November 4, 2015.


Fashion and Fan Creations

The Her Universe Fashion Show was one of the top 20 best things to watch at San Diego Comic-Con 2015, according to Rolling Stone! Find more amazing photos of the geek couture fashion show over at Aggressive Comix.

Lisa Granshaw has two great fashion articles. The first is on the world of Star Wars vintage apparel collecting and the second takes a look at geek fashion at San Diego Comic-Con as well as where the trend is headed next. Edie Nugent over at Geek and Sundry also talked about geek girl fashion trends and the business surrounding it.

Bria compiled a few BB-8 items together for a geek fashion post over at White Hot Room.
