Galactic Fashion is a new monthly, interview-based podcast dedicated to Star Wars and geek fashion.
Let me start off by saying that I’m not an extremely fashionable person, and I’m definitely not a fashion expert in any way. You’ll normally find me in a t-shirt and in a pair of jeans because it’s what makes me feel comfortable, and the extent of my fashion knowledge comes from Project Runway! I’ve gradually started getting the hang of wearing skirts and dresses for fun, which I recently realized should come naturally, since I wore a skirt to private school for a good chunk of my life. That said, I do very much love the culture around geek fashion and the general enthusiasm behind the trend. You wear what you want, and if people don’t like it, that’s their problem–not yours. I’m continually fascinated by the ingenuity and innovation behind combining fashion with geek culture. I also just really love pretty things:
I’m so naturally attracted to what’s happening with women’s fashion, that I wanted to capture that and interview Star Wars fans from the community and get a taste of their fashion styles and their thoughts on geek fashion.
The first episode will arrive on Friday, August 28, with me in the hot seat, answering a variety of fashion-related questions. Each episode following will debut on the last Friday of the month with a different guest. Given the nature of the podcast and how it’s based on interviews, each episode will be about 25-30 minutes long, but it may run slightly longer depending on the topics of discussion.
In the meantime, make sure to follow Galactic Fashion on Twitter.
Looking forward to talking fashion!
