2015 has been an amazing year for Ashley Eckstein and the team at Her Universe, from its fifth year anniversary celebration to the announcement of a Her Universe reality series at the Her Universe Fashion Show. There are still so many wonderful treats in store for the fans, including a special announcement at New York Comic Con later in October. Until then, here are some previews from the official Her Universe Instagram to give you a taste of what awesome things are headed our way.
Every year, Her Universe rolls out limited edition pins for the holiday season. So far, we’ve seen R2-D2, Yoda, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and Boba Fett. Any guesses who will be next? Given that December is also a big month because of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, people are hoping for a BB-8 pin. Personally, I’m praying for an Ahsoka Tano pin. It’s been an important year for Ahsoka, especially given her return in Star Wars Rebels, and plus, it’d be great to see a Star Wars female character in the line-up. This year is also the first year Her Universe will be giving away 1500 pins. Will you be the owner of one? Make sure to sign up for the Her Universe newsletter to keep yourself informed with the latest news and updates.
Ashley took advantage of a rainy day in Los Angeles and showed fans two brand new items coming to Hot Topic for the holidays: a Darth Vader knit sweater and a BB-8 jacket. Fans went wild! Force Friday was a big day filled with brand new apparel and accessories, but fans were disappointed to find out that three of the coolest clothing items (Stormtrooper Quilted Zip-up Top from Kohl’s and Kylo Ren Hooded Sweatshirt and Finn Pilot Jacket from the Disney Store) came only in sizes for children. Keep a close eye on that BB-8 jacket, since I have a feeling it’ll be sold out hours after it goes on sale.
Finally, Ashley recently unveiled the new “House of Vader” shirt in support of UNICEF. She will be presenting exclusive Star Wars apparel in The Monday Night Show with Adam Freeman: HSN Cares Star Wars Edition to raise funds for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF and bring awareness to UNICEF’s work and how they improve the lives of children in need. The show will air on Monday, September 28, from 7-9PM EST on HSN. Read the entire press release for more information (via The Kessel Runway). In the background, you will also find a few new items, including a colorful R2-D2 print dress, a floral print Darth Vader tank, and a black R2-D2 tank. Ashley also revealed on Twitter that the R2-D2 dress will be made available at Disney Parks soon.
