Zeb and Kallus Depend on Each Other for Survival in “The Honorable Ones”

Zeb and Agent Kallus depending on each other to survive? Things definitely get interesting in the next all-new episode of Star Wars Rebels.

After a failed Imperial ambush, Zeb and an injured Agent Kallus find themselves stranded on the icy moon of Geonosis. In order to survive the harsh environment, the two must work together, but given that they’re both mortal enemies, is that an impossible task?

The last time we saw Agent Kallus, he had been in pursuit of the rebels, believing them to have been crushed by the star cluster standing in the way of Zeb’s new home planet. Before that, he had a few rough losses, like the one on the planet Seelos against the ex-clone troopers and when Ezra used a Force push to knock him out. Ever since we first met him, he hasn’t had the best of luck in capturing this particular cell of rebels and ceasing their transgressions against the Empire.

What’s an Imperial agent of the ISB to do? He sets up an ambush to capture them.

I know this is weird because I’m always rooting for the good guys to win, but I can’t help but feel sorry for Kallus and his continued losses. Will there come a time when he actually does succeed? Or will he become the Zuko (Avatar: The Last Airbender) of the series? We haven’t seen many members of the Imperial army turn from the Empire and join the rebel cause, but it does happen. (Take Thane Kyrell, for example.) Kallus does have a lot of potential, but it’s hard to say where he’ll eventually end up. That said, let’s not forget that he played a part in cleansing Lasan, so redemption may not be in the cards at all.

Then, there’s Zeb and his people’s prophecy. Will the “child saving the warrior” play a part in the episode? Or will Zeb come to realize that leaving Kallus to fend for himself is the best course of action, and in a way, rid the ISB agent once and for all?

This is definitely an episode I’ve been waiting to see ever since they first faced off in season one. At that time, Kallus had the upper hand and came close to ending Zeb’s life had Ezra not stepped in to save him. They crossed paths again in the Star Wars Rebels comic “Sabotaged Supplies”, where Zeb fought Kallus for an antidote to save the poisoned people of Tarkintown. The two definitely have it out for each other, so it’ll interesting to see how things pan out for both characters.

Find out what happens to Zeb and Kallus when “The Honorable Ones” airs on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at 9PM ET/PT on Disney XD.

  1. There seemed to be a sense of doubt about his situation after his cold response from the admiral, and afterwards as he sits in his quarters. After all, Tarken and Vader gladly dispense with anyone who fails. He may just be wondering if he should “jump ship” at some point.

  2. I love Kallus so much. He’s my favorite villain on the show. You have to always have a good villain for your heroes.
BUT I hope he turns into more of a grey character. Like where he’s still loyal to the Empire, but he has more humanity than most. He’ll let little things slide.
