Hot Topic recently released and shared via Twitter two videos pertaining to the Her Universe Fashion Show and the upcoming geek fashion collection inspired by Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In part one, viewers get to know the two winners of last year’s Fashion Show, Kelly Cercone and Leetal Platt. In part two, watch as the two designers collaborate with Her Universe and Hot Topic to bring their fashion sketches of The Force Awakens collection to life.
The collection was officially announced at WonderCon 2016 and fans were told that it would be released in mid April. On April 23, the collection was made available at the Hot Topic store at Hollywood & Highland in California, where the open call for designers for this year’s Fashion Show took place. You can find a collection of photos from that event over at The Kessel Runway. The collection includes a Phasma jacket and leggings, a Finn jacket, a Rey cardigan, a Kylo Ren dress, a BB-8 dress, a Rebel Flight Suit dress, and a Stormtrooper dress.
A new piece of apparel that surfaced in part two of this video series is the Rey dress made of jersey. It features a subtle print of Rey and her speeder. The dress will appear in the full launch of the collection. Though, there’s no official date yet as to when the collection will be made available in select stores across the country and online. (Update: The collection is now available!)
