‘Star Wars Rebels’ September 2016 Roundup


  • For fans in the UK, Star Wars Rebels season three will premiere on October 1, 2016, according to a press release posted over at Jedi News UK.
  • The season one soundtrack is now available on iTunes.
  • Disney XD’s Star Wars Rebels website underwent a cosmetic change in preparation for the season three premiere. Find more details about it here.
  • There have been several television spots and trailers promoting the third season. Here’s a list of what’s out there:
    • Enter Thrawn: Master Imperial strategist Grand Admiral Thrawn plots the destruction of the Ghost crew and the growing rebellion.
    • Mind Trick: Ezra uses the Force in a deadly new way.
    • Meet the Bendu: Kanan encounters a mysterious being named Bendu who seems to have already sensed his presence.
    • The Star Wars Show Clip: Ezra confronts Admiral Brom Titus.
    • Face to Face with Thrawn: Hera and Ezra go undercover, but the captain of the Ghost crew unwittingly gains the attention of a high-ranking Imperial: Grand Admiral Thrawn.
    • 30-second Trailer: What started as a rebellion, has become much bigger.
    • 1-minute Trailer: Features new footage using a similar “Rebel Beat” song from the past season.
    • Ezra and the Sith Holocron: Ezra seeks guidance from an undue source.
    • Rebels Recon: The Star Wars Rebels cast looks ahead to season three.

  • Melissa Thomas has new Star Wars Rebels season three character stickers available on Redbubble. Melissa also drew this hilarious image of Dave Filoni that uses the same expression of Pacha in The Emperor’s New Groove.

  • MFG Customs and Reviews posted a picture of a repainted Black Series 6-inch Ahsoka Tano action figure. This tweet shows a before and after shot of the action figure.
  • Star Wars Explained put together a video detailing the canon history of Jedi Master Depa Billaba, who was trained by Mace Windu, and later, trained Kanan Jarrus. They also have a video that summarizes the events of Star Wars Rebels in three minutes and another video dedicated to the number of questions regarding the series and much more.

Comics and Books

  • Jedi-Bibliothek has the next three titles from the Star Wars Rebels comics:
    • Issue #22 (8/31/2016): The Thune Cargo
    • Issue #23 (9/28/2016): Always Bet on Chop
    • Issue #24 (10/26/2016): The Second Chance
  • There is now a second volume of the Star Wars Rebels comics from the Star Wars Rebels Magazine and Jedi-Bibliothek has a preview. This second volume collects issues 9-16.

Toys and Games

  • An image of the Sabine Wren Funko Pop! appeared in the “May the Funko Be With You” Facebook page. It looks like it originated from Ikon Collectables, an Australian wholesale distributor. Some claim it will be a Walgreens exclusive, so stay tuned as more information develops. (via Yakface)
  • Additionally, the Star Wars Rebels Funko Pop! figures will be released on October 15, 2016. (via Anakin and His Angel)
  • Coming out later this fall is the Sabine Wren 3.75-inch Rogue One Packaging Action Figure. Here are reviews from FLYGUY and First Order Transmissions. First Order Transmissions also reviewed the Kanan Jarrus (Stormtrooper Disguise) 3.75-inch Rogue One Packing Action Figure. You can find a closer look of the carded figures over at Jedi Temple Archives. Additionally, the Sabine Wren and Kanan Jarrus figures will be available for purchase at Target.
  • At Target, you’ll also find the Star Wars Hero Mashers Kanan Jarrus action figure.
  • The Princess Leia 3.75-inch Rogue One Packaging Action Figure will be coming out later in November. (via Julie Dolan)
