ScreenCrush’s Interview With ‘Forces of Destiny’ Product Designer Keysha Ramos

ScreenCrush spoke with Keysha Ramos, Hasbro’s designer of product for the upcoming micro-series Star Wars: Forces of Destiny, to learn more about the “Adventure Figures” figure line and its importance in this golden age of Star Wars storytelling.

“This is about allowing kids to learn more about their favorite Star Wars characters and recreate heroic moments through play in a new way,” Ramos said during the interview. “Toys, including Hasbro’s figures and role play items, have always played a unique role in the Star Wars universe and we’re excited to be offering something new that will enable a broader audience of fans to celebrate and experience some of their favorite characters in a new way.”

Growing up, I remember playing with both action figures and dolls, so it’s wonderful to see Hasbro combine the two (as they have similarly done in the past as well as currently with DC Superhero Girls) for characters, specifically female characters, in the Star Wars galaxy.

“Everything we create is an extension of the storytelling, and what the fans want and need, now and in the future,” she said, when asked the line’s development past 2018. “As long as there are still fans eager to see more of the Star Wars universe and more of Forces of Destiny in particular, we will continue to expand and diversify the line to bring those stories they love to life in unique ways.”

The idea of having more adventure figures in the future sounds amazing, but as fans and consumers, if we want this line to succeed and to grow further by including other beloved female characters, we have to continue to show our support not only vocally but also with our money.

The Forces of Destiny adventure figures line will debut on August 1, 2017.
