‘Star Wars Rebels’ May 2017 Roundup

Every month, TWG gathers the latest news, interviews, fan creations, and updates pertaining to Star Wars Rebels. Have a link you want us to include in next month’s roundup? Send it here, leave it in the comments section below, or visit our Contact page.

  • Rumor has it, according to StarWarsNewsNet, that Ian McDiarmid recorded some lines as Emperor Palpatine for the fourth season of Star Wars Rebels. Keep in mind that Sam Witwer has voiced the Emperor in the series already, so it’s best to wait for an official announcement later this fall.
  • Twitter user and Star Wars fan, Ian Perkins, took a picture of an alternate season three poster at Hollywood Studios. Many in the fan community have been claiming this is the season four poster, but rest assured that it is not. According to Tracy Cannobbio on Twitter, the poster pictured is a one-off design. She also stated that the whole crew will be represented in the season four poster and that it will be released late summer/early fall.
  • The Star Wars YouTube channel uploaded a corrected version of the “Animated Origins and Unexpected Fates” panel from Star Wars Celebration Orlando. When the panel had originally aired, fans at home were unable to see the concept art, so this video includes the missing artwork.
  • While browsing the Disney Rewards website, I found an article pertaining to the leading ladies of the galaxy. The list includes the Seventh Sister as well as some information about her. The third bullet appears to be new information and it states, “Early on in production of Rebels, The Seventh Sister was called ‘Chatter,’ but her name was changed after the character of ‘The Eighth Brother Inquisitor’ was created.”
  • Dragon Con announced that writer Henry Gilroy will return to the convention to talk about Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
  • James Arnold Taylor launched a new YouTube series called Clone Wars Conversations. The first episode features Anna Graves, the voice of Duchess Satine Kryze. She briefly mentioned working on Star Wars Rebels and stated that she did a voice for an episode in season four.
  • On his birthday, Dave Filoni shared a sketch of Ahsoka, a convor, and a wolf, and wrote, “It might be my Birthday, but here is a gift, and perhaps a clarification, for you. May the Force be with you!” It turns out the popular fan theory of Ahsoka having transformed into a wolf is wrong. It was fun while it lasted!
