General

  • Star Wars Rebels won Best Animated Series at the 43rd annual Saturn Awards! You can see a video of Dave Filoni’s acceptance speech here. Rebels was also nominated for an Emmy Award.
  • Hondo Ohnaka is coming to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World and Disneyland, specifically to the Millennium Falcon ride. Read more about the themed land here.
  • Star Wars Rebels is coming to Fan Expo Canada in Toronto. Read more about the details here.
  • A reminder that the Star Wars Rebels season 3 DVD/Blu-ray will be released on August 29. Read more about what the special features include here.

Comics

  • The 5th issue of the 6-part Marvel comic book miniseries Rogue One: A Star Wars Story includes a brief shot of the Ghost when the Rebel fleet appears above Scarif. Find a picture of it here.
  • Marvel will be adapting Tim Zahn’s latest novel, Thrawn, into comic book form. The comic will be released early next year, and it will be written by Jody Houser and drawn by Luke Ross. Find an image of it here.
  • Darth Vader #6 by Charles Soule will focus on Darth Vader meeting the Inquisitorius. The cover features the Grand Inquisitor.

  • Ingo Römling shared new images on Twitter from the Star Wars Rebels comic that continues to be published in Germany.

  1. Would you have any idea whether that SWR comic is available to us here in the US, possibly with an English translation? I just did a very quick bit of googling about it, and it seems pretty hard to locate, especially any recent issues…

    • Hey! Unfortunately, the anything past issue 22 (I think) isn’t available in the US. The magazine it was being published in was cancelled both in the US and the UK. It continues to be published in Germany, but we don’t know if it’s going to be available as trade paperbacks in English. We keep asking IDW to pick up the comic and make it available to more fans, but still no word.
