For me, to understand “balance” we need to be critical on the Jedi Order, and contrast them with the final teachings of Depa Billaba, and Kanan’s life.
The Jedi Order thought that by isolating themselves from the Dark Side, by applying isolationist dogmas such as “non-attachment”, they can maintain ‘balance’. In essence, they are afraid to confront the Dark Side by being ‘human’ (apologies for non-human species).
That’s not how one achieve balance.
Also, the existence of the “third pole” of the Force (The Bendu, which was a personification of the Force of Nature, along with the Loth Wolves) gives another solution to “balance”: Be good, don’t isolate yourself so you can control the Dark Side, and be aligned to Nature.
I hope I”m making sense, it’s almost 2am when I type this, while listening to the podcast :-)
