On February 27, 2013, I took a small step into a bigger world and pressed the “publish” button on a project I was determined to make happen, and on that day, TWG was born. Five years later, TWG is still going strong, and I’m so happy with how far it has come.
Before that magical day, I was expressing my thoughts about Star Wars on Tumblr, and after careful consideration, I decided to launch my own little corner of the web in the hopes of sharing my love of Star Wars with the rest of the fan community. Slowly but surely, I found that the animated side of Star Wars was where I wanted to focus, since the Star Wars: The Clone Wars feature film and series were the things that roped me back into the Star Wars fandom all those years ago. For those of you who work on this content day in and day out, thank you. You’ve taken us to worlds and introduced us to characters I could have never imagined on my own, and your stories continue to inspire me.
TWG may not have the biggest audience or pull in a large amount of hits, but it’s a place that people have come to rely on for information and thoughtful perspectives. I’m not the kind of person to rush and publish news the moment it breaks. Instead, I like to take my time and make sure that what I’m putting out there is worthy of your time and consideration. For those of you who have taken the time to read and comment on what I’ve written and listen to what I’ve said, thank you. Your support means everything to me.
Whenever I write and share content, I never do it with the intention of getting something in return. I do it because I naturally enjoy sharing information and engaging in conversation. That said, I’ve had many rewarding experiences, and I’m grateful for each and every one of them. Because of TWG, I’ve gone to places I had only dreamt about and I’ve met the people I truly admire. I know it’s difficult to stand out in a world that’s constantly moving, but if you keep true to yourself and do what you love, other people will stop and take notice. For those of you who have stopped to take a chance on me and give me the opportunity to do crazy and awesome things, thank you. Your faith in me and what I’ve done through TWG will never be forgotten.
With all that said, TWG will continue to be a warm and welcoming place for those in search of content pertaining to the animated shows. I look forward to what the next five years will bring, and if you decide to stick around, I’ll be more than happy to take you along for the ride.
May the Force be with you!
