Highlights From the Her Universe Fashion Show Update Panel at WonderCon 2018

The world of geek fashion just keeps getting bigger and better, and Her Universe is leading the charge. Creator Ashley Eckstein made several announcements during this year’s WonderCon at the Anaheim Convention Center that made many fans even more excited about what’s to come.

1. Tiki Collection

In collaboration with Disney and Hot Topic, Her Universe released a limited edition Tiki-inspired collection featuring your favorite Disney characters (such as Moana, Peter Pan, Mickey, and Lilo & Stitch) for both women and men.

What is most surprising is that the collection also includes footwear and bags! While Her Universe has made purses in the past, this is the company’s first dive into the world of geeky shoes. Customers can purchase light blue fabric sandals with wedge heels featuring the mermaids of Peter Pan as well as deep red heels inspired by Lilo & Stitch.

The collection is available in Hot Topic stores and Select styles are available in plus sizes.

2. Destination Disney

At the Her Universe Fashion Show Update panel, fans were also given a sneak peek at the upcoming Destination Disney collection designed by the 2017 Fashion Show winners: Lindsay Orndorff, Grace DuVal, and Rose Ivy.

The fashion line will feature designs inspired by Disney Princesses, such as Mulan (Orndorff, left), Ariel (DuVal, center), Rapunzel (Ivy, right), Jasmine, Tiana, and Moana. It was also mentioned that bags, shoes, and makeup will be included in the collection.

“I could not possibly feel more grateful or lucky that I’ve gotten to be a part of the Her Universe Fashion Show and that because of Her Universe I get to come out here and share so many exciting things that this team has been working on,” DuVal wrote on her Instagram when she arrived at WonderCon. “It’s a dream come true, and I’m really so humbled that I get to call this my life.” You can also follow Orndorff and Ivy on Instagram to keep up with their latest updates.

The Destination Disney line will debut the week before San Diego Comic-Con. Also, stay tuned for more information regarding this year’s Her Universe Fashion Show application process.

3. Infinity War

If you thought that was it, there’s still more to come! Her Universe also announced an Avengers: Infinity War collection for Hot Topic and Torrid. It will be inspired by the Infinity Stones, and it will have a combination of activewear and 90’s streetwear.

Additionally, the new Infinity War beauty collection by Her Universe is available now at select BoxLunch and Hot Topic stores. The collection includes a set of lip glosses, a perfume, and a bath bomb set.
