We visited the Galaxy’s Edge booth at Star Wars Celebration Chicago, and we can safely say the merchandise debuting at the Disney Parks later this summer is out of this world.
There were a few that caught our attention, like Hera’s kalikori and the huggable puffer pig. The cutest piece of merchandise, however, was a doll inspired by Ahsoka Tano.
“The stories of Ahsoka have inspired so many and our artisan is no different,” said Brad Schoenberg, Director of Merchandise for Star Wars, when the doll was revealed to Ashley Eckstein during The Star Wars Show.
He went on to say, “We used materials that are probably uncommon in the toy world as we know it today, so different swatches of fabric for all of the plush. We hand-crafted the vehicles in wood, tins, [and] materials that are uncommon in our world on toys, but in this galaxy, very common.”
Here’s a preview of some of the merchandise related to the Star Wars animated shows that will be available at the Creature Stall and Toydarian Toymaker:
- Ahsoka Tano plush
- Tooka doll
- Wooden convor whistle
- Wooden Gorg instrument
- Puffer pig (makes an oinking sound when squeezed)
- Krykna spider
- Jedi holocron
- Jedi Temple Guard mask
- Hera’s kalikori
- Matching Game, featuring cards with a Loth-cat and Hondo Ohnaka
Last but not least, Ahsoka’s white lightsabers will be available at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. The hilts come in a case that bears Fulcrum’s symbol. The set was revealed on The Star Wars Show stage, where Ashley Eckstein got to pose with them for the first time.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will open on May 31 at Disneyland Resort in Southern California and August 29 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida.
