If you haven’t picked up the first season of Star Wars Resistance on DVD, you’re missing out on some great bonus content. Supervising Director and Executive Producer Justin Ridge and the cast came together in “Path of Resistance” to talk about what’s to come in the upcoming second and final season of the series.
“What I’m the most excited about for season two is that it opens up the scope of the show,” said Ridge. “Before, we were on the planet Castilon, where the Colossus was docked. It was basically the gas station in the outer reaches. But now, with our heroes on the run, they’re a moving base and they basically have to try and find safety. We’re not confined to one planet. We’re now adventuring and journeying into unknown parts of the galaxy, and with that comes a lot of new things that we’ve never seen before. Possibly new characters, new locations, and it just makes for a really exciting adventure.”
Here’s some concept art shown throughout the featurette:
The bonus feature also includes a special season two clip. In it, we see the Colossus approaching the planet D’Qar. There’s evidence of a battle, and you immediately start to put together this is taking place immediately after the start of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Neeku announces he’s not getting a response from the Resistance base.
“Whatever happened, it looks like they put up a fight. And not that long ago, either,” responded Yeager.
Kaz himself tries to get in touch with Poe Dameron and General Organa, but he and the rest come to terms with the fact the Resistance base has been wiped out.
Season two of Star Wars Resistance will return on October 6, 2019, at 10pm EST on the Disney Channel. It will also be available through DisneyNOW.
