The premiere of the second and final season of Star Wars Resistance is only days away, and from what we’ve seen, things are off to a chaotic start for our heroes on the Colossus. It’s a miracle they survived the hyperspace jump in the first place, but the fight for survival is just beginning.
If you’re looking to get a taste of what’s to come this Sunday, October 6, we rounded up the latest previews, promos, and episodic images.
In the season premiere, “Into the Unknown,” the Colossus encounters a wide array of engineering problems. Not only that, but these complications are made worse by a mysterious stowaway.
Now that we know the Colossus is a massive space station, Captain Doza and the rest of the residents are going to have to treat it that way. That means unveiling a never-before-seen command deck, where, unfortunately, they discover a series of malfunctions. Their ever-growing repair list includes inoperable weapons, damaged sublight engines, and defective deflector shields.
Worst of all, the hyperdrive is out of coaxium. No fuel means they’re sitting space ducks, making them easy targets for the First Order and any other dangerous threats out there.
There is one lingering hope, however. Turns out, Neeku’s calculations weren’t too far off and they’re relatively close to D’Qar. Kaz is certain a Resistance base is located on D’Qar. He’s partly right, but given the events of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the base no longer exists. The thing is they don’t know that. It’ll be interesting to see how the crew reacts to this news and how they intend to move forward on their own.

It’s funny how short promos tend to be the most revealing. This past weekend, Disney XD shared a promo that revealed an interesting new character, specifically a short-haired woman being placed under arrest by the First Order.
We don’t know anything about her, except she knows how to handle a blaster. Since we’re avid fans of Torra Doza and want to know more about her mother, a Rebel pilot back in the day of the Empire, could this be the moment we’ve been waiting for?
When we interviewed Myrna Velasco and asked her about how Torra’s mom plays a role in her life, she said, “Oh, I don’t know how much I’m allowed to say! Yes… the answer is yes. I mean, don’t you think it’s funny that Torra’s a really great pilot, but you’ve never seen Captain Doza in a racer or a fighter or anything? Her mother plays a huge part in her life, and that, I think, is all I can say!”
Plus, in a recent interview with the Resistance executive producers, Athena Portillo gave a small hint that we could see more Doza family members in the near future. Whether this unnamed character is Torra’s mom or not, we know one thing’s for sure — she knows how to easily maneuver out of a tight situation.
We also hear Jace Rucklin (voiced by Elijah Wood) say to Tam, “Your friends lied to you, what are you going to do?” We tried giving Rucklin the benefit of the doubt last season, but his snake-like ways will no doubt have an influence on Tam throughout the season, especially since he’s a TIE fighter pilot alongside her.
This next promo also reveals an interesting detail regarding Kaz’s father. Turns out the man seen in a hologram is Hamato Xiono. Some fan speculation labeled Hamato as a corrupt senator, given Leia’s comment about senators profiting from the making of First Order weapons in “Station Theta Black.” While we don’t know much about Hamato, we are intrigued to know he’s still alive and we can’t wait to see how Kaz handles this newfound information moving forward.
If you’re still craving for more, here are 10 official episodic images from the premiere. The episode will start off immediately after the events from the season finale. Flix and Orka make an appearance and the crew appear to be floating due to engineering problems. We also see CB-23 in a fight with her First Order counterpart and Tam transitioning into her new role.
The second and final season of Star Wars Resistance will begin on Sunday, October 6, 2019, at 6:00 pm ET on Disney XD and 10:00 pm ET on the Disney Channel. It will also be available to watch on DisneyNOW.
